This Privacy Policy explains how Accwisely.com ("Accwisely", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you use our website at https://www.accwisely.com and our software-as-a-service platform (the "Service").
It is written to align with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (the "PDPA"). Where you access the Service from outside Singapore, additional or different data protection laws may apply. This Policy describes our practices; it does not extend rights to you beyond those granted by applicable law.
1. Personal data we collect
We collect personal data in the following ways:
Information you provide to us
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash), and where provided, your organisation name and role.
- Communication content: the content of messages you send to us via support, email, or in-product feedback.
- Trial balance data and supporting input: the financial information you upload for processing. This may include the names of natural persons (for example, directors named in the financial statements), which constitutes personal data under the PDPA.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, language preference, and time zone.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, credits consumed, the date and time of generations, and the volume and frequency of access.

Information from third parties
- Authentication data from identity providers (such as Google, where you choose to sign in via a third-party identity provider).
- Where applicable, information from payment processors confirming the status of any payment (we do not collect or store payment card details).
2. Purposes for which we use personal data
We collect, use, and disclose personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide the Service, including authentication, processing your trial balance data, generating Output, and managing your account and credits.
- To communicate with you about the Service, respond to support enquiries, and notify you of material changes to the Service or our policies.
- To prevent abuse and fraud, including the detection of multiple-account creation to obtain additional free credits, and the protection of the Service from misuse.
- To improve the Service, including through aggregated and de-identified usage analytics.
- To comply with our legal obligations, including responding to lawful requests from regulators and law enforcement.
- Where you have given consent, to send you marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in those communications or by contacting info@accwisely.com.
Under PDPA section 13, we collect, use, and disclose personal data only with your consent (deemed or express) or where permitted under the PDPA.
3. Disclosure to third parties
We disclose personal data only to the following categories of recipient:
- Service providers we engage to operate the Service, including hosting and database providers (currently Supabase Inc.), email providers, analytics providers, and customer-support tools. These providers process personal data only on our instructions and under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Professional advisors, such as our lawyers, accountants, and auditors, where reasonably required.
- Acquirers and successors in the event of a sale, merger, or restructuring of the business, subject to confidentiality obligations on the recipient.
- Regulators, courts, or law enforcement where we are legally obliged or permitted to disclose.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
4. Cross-border transfer
Some of our service providers, including our hosting provider, may store or process personal data outside Singapore. Where we transfer personal data outside Singapore, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient is bound by enforceable obligations to provide a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, in accordance with section 26 of the PDPA and the Personal Data Protection Regulations 2014.
5. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. In particular:
- Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after termination to permit reactivation, dispute resolution, or compliance with our retention obligations.
- Trial balance and generated output data is retained for 90 days after generation, after which it is deleted from active systems. You may request earlier deletion in accordance with section 7.
- Communication records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to support our customer relationship and to evidence the basis on which we have acted.
- De-identified or aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.
6. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption of data in transit, password hashing, and regular review of our security practices. No system is perfectly secure; you accept that there is residual risk in any transmission or storage of personal data online.
7. Your rights under the PDPA
Subject to the PDPA, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Access: you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and information about how it has been used and disclosed in the past year.
- Correction: you may request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Withdrawal of consent: you may withdraw consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data, on reasonable notice. Withdrawal of consent may mean we are unable to continue providing the Service to you.
- Data portability: where applicable under the PDPA's data portability provisions when in force, you may request transmission of your data to another organisation.
Requests should be addressed to our Data Protection Officer at info@accwisely.com. We will respond within thirty (30) days as required by the PDPA. We may charge a reasonable fee for access requests in accordance with the PDPA.

9. Complaints
If you have a complaint about our handling of personal data, please contact us first at info@accwisely.com. If you remain dissatisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore (PDPC) at www.pdpc.gov.sg.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact info@accwisely.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent material change. Where the changes are material, we will give reasonable notice via the Service or by email.
